The important of breathing exercises in stress management is vital. If your breathing is off balance, things are happening within your body physically and metabolically. If you are holding your breath or not breathing correctly, you are throwing your body off homeostasis and tricking it into going into fight or flight mode, affecting your sympathetic nervous system. Also, psychologically when your focused on your breathing, you are less able to focus on the outside stress around you.

being stressed isn’t good so breathing exercises calm you down because you are focused on the breathing
