The wife admits the repetitive pattern when marrying a partner. She refutes the stereotype that women ought to be submissive and asserts that she would never refuse to have sex with her husband if he wished to do so, her argument being that sex is not only meant for procreation but for pleasure as well.
Also, she uses scripture to prove her point in regards to men that took more than one wife. She repeatedly states that virginity was meant only for those who longed to be perfect Christians and argues that if everyone were to abstain from pre-marital sex virginity would be a standard.
