His distance from the finishing line is 2.6 km

now the time taken by the jogger to reach the finish line is given as

[tex]t = \frac{d}{v}[/tex]

[tex]t = \frac{2.6}{2.3}[/tex]

[tex]t = 1.13 h[/tex]

now in the same time the bird will move to and fro from jogger to finishing line continuously

so the total distance moved by the bird is given as

[tex]d = speed * time[/tex]

[tex]d = 13.8 * 1.13[/tex]

[tex]d = 15.6 km[/tex]

so the bird will travel total distance 15.6 km in total time of motion
