HELP ME PLEASE!!! I've been stuck with this question for so long!

noun
et·y·mol·o·gy
the study of the origin of a word

Which sentence uses the word etymology correctly, according to the information in the dictionary entry?

A) Ella loved wildlife and was fascinated by the etymology of butterfly.

B) The etymology of the disease revealed that it was highly contagious.

C) Studying etymology convinced Kim to pursue a career in law enforcement.

D) The etymology of the recipe told Kara about the people who used it.

Respuesta :

D) The etymology of the recipe told Kara about the people who used it.

Etymology is the study words and where they are derived from in history

Hey!

Sorry, but the correct answer is actually A) Ella loved wildlife and was fascinated by the etymology of butterfly.

Etymology is the study of the origin of a word (like said above) so that means it couldn't be D because the origin of a word provides more insight to it, where it was derived from, and what it means. Not who encountered it or used it.

Also, I just took the test and am providing an attached screenshot.

I hope that helps you guys! Good luck! :)
