Hajrah BeginnerSo when scientists observe fossil records, they are able to see the relatedness of species through the different stratum (layers of rock underground) and this shows us how species have adapted over time. Also, we may find transverse fossils, these are fossils that show us the link between species and how they have formed. For example, the archeopteryx which shows the link between reptiles (dinosaurs) and birds. Lastly, we are able to see vestigial structures which also shows us how species have adapted.
