The further you go down into any body of water, the colder the water gets, so, the further you go down the more the density increases. Density can also be related to pressure, which is why the further down you, the more weight is on your chest, even the most advanced subs can't reach the bottom of parts of the ocean or else they will be crushed like tin can.
