I just learned this in health lol

Viral and bacterial infections are both spread in basically the same ways. A person with a cold can spread the infection by coughing and/or sneezing. Bacteria or viruses can be passed on by touching or shaking hands with another person.

One common way: If a (sick) person touches another person. 

Second common way: If the sick person coughs, sneezes, or spits on another person.

These are the two most common ways of how viruses are spread.
And I know this because my brother sneezed on me and now I'm sick.. so lol.
