He decides to try to build an enclosure by hanging clear plastic over ropes attached to poles down the center of the garden. A cross section (shown below) shows that the ropes form two right triangles with each pole.
Each section of rope is 18 feet long. The distance from the base of the pole to each stake in the ground is 2/3 the height of the pole. What is the height of each pole? Will this be enough to cover the width of Rashid’s garden? Explain. (Hint: See your solution to #3.) Give your answer for the height of the pole in feet and inches (rounding to the nearest inch).
