What the Servant Said Act three, scene 2
In Act three, Scene 2, Juliet experiences a range of emotions: eager anticipation, fear,
anger, sorrow, shame, and so forth. She begins the scene as a new wife waiting to
consummate her marriage and ends it grief-stricken over the fact that her cousin is dead
and her husband is banished.
Imagine that you are one of Juliet's handmaidens. You are just outside her door waiting
for her to call on you, and you overhear everything from her beginning speech to when
she gives the Nurse her ring to give to Romeo. You run back to tell the other servants
what has happened and what Juliet and the Nurse said and felt. Write your retelling
below.
