Determine whether each equation below is true or false by substituting different
numbers for the variables and checking whether the left expression equals the
right expression for the numbers. For each equation write if the operation
follows these general rules of arithmetic (commutative law, associative law, or
distributive law). Part a) is done for you as an example.

a) m+n=n+m
Let m = 2 and n = 3
L.H.S (Left-hand side) = m + n
= 2+3
= 5
R.H.S (Right-hand side) = n + menne
= 3+2
= 5
L.H.S= R. H.S
Therefore addition is commutative.
